Power Through It!

This morning’s workout was a struggle. It’s funny, because I took yesterday off from the gym, but all day I was looking forward to today’s 6 a.m. cardio session. But once I got to the gym, after about five minutes on the elliptical, I was losing steam. My body felt like a ton of bricks and every motion seemed to sap more and more energy.
But then a miracle happened. I started thinking about a piece on mantras we recently did in Oxygen (November 2011) and decided to try my own. The words just came naturally, too. In my head I started to say, “Power through it, power through it,” and what do you know, I did! I even went five minutes longer than originally planned. My shuffle landed on a song I love (Best of You by the Foo Fighters), so I couldn’t quit just yet.
On that musical note, I’m looking to update my playlist. Does anyone have any suggestions for songs that really help to Power Through a cardio session? Let me know!
