My
astrological sign is Gemini. And as a cusp baby, I’m very
much a stubborn Taurus girl too.
I grew up in Kingston, Ontario, but was born in Lachine,
Quebec
At my high school there wasn’t a girls soccer team
so I started one. I played center-half or sweeper and was MVP four years.
I was on the gymnastics team, too, but got too tall. I went on to dive and
swim.
My role models are my daughters. All three are competitive
dancers. When I see my girls performing, their talent, charisma and energy
mesmerize me.
My first contest was two years ago at the Las Vegas Classic;
I placed fifth in my class. I had only been training for about a year and
did not have many expectations. I didn’t even hear them call my name
to receive my trophy. I was thrilled.
I don’t like to focus on pet peeves. We all have
things that annoy us, but I choose to look past that. However, I am a neat
freak.
My dream vacation would be the Fiji Islands. I’ve
heard about the luxurious resorts where the private villas stand on stilts
in the middle of the ocean.
I love training my butt. Before I started training, I had
a flat backside and I was so motivated by my results, I wrote a book about
it The Butt Book.
I hate training my calves because they’re genetically
small and difficult to build. It takes a lot of hard work to get them to
look good, and that hurts.
I’d love to meet Oprah Winfrey. I feel I could sit
down beside her and talk fitness, fashion and life. It would be easy to
have a conversation with her.
If I weren’t a fitness model and writer, I would
want to cohost a show with Regis Philbin.
My favorite training shoes are my Nike Shox and my brightly
colored Pumas.
At the gym I wear mostly dance pants and jog bras by Faremon.
And I always wear training gloves.
For breakfast this morning I ate oatmeal cooked with water
and topped with raspberries, blueberries and flaxseed. I also had six boiled
egg whites, one piece of dry brown toast, a quart of water and a cup of
black coffee.
I never leave home without my Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter
Cuticle creme, M.A.C lip liner in Spice, M.A.C Lipgloss in Oyster Girl,
Sephora blotting paper, my cell phone and a kiss from my man. |
