Claim to Fame: “I hold the title of ‘Mom Most Likely To Embarrass Her Kids.’ Other than that, I’m a WNSO fitness model pro and figure competitor.”
On her bedside table: The Secret (Beyond Words Publishing, 2006) by Rhonda Byrne.
Her destiny: While she has worked as an interior designer, her true passion is writing. “I’ve been taking children’s literature courses for many years and have several storylines in the works.”
Her proudest moment: When her youngest child, Capri, said that mommy was her favorite toy, Dennis thought: “I must be doing something right.”
Choice cheats: “My favorites are peanut butter, chocolate and red wine. I control cravings by not letting myself get hungry and drinking lots of water.”
In her fridge: “You’ll find a mess. I have six kids — what do you expect?”
In the gym: “I’ve always been athletic,” says the former gymnast of 10 years. “I knew [fitness] was for me when I would leave the gym after a couple of hours of hard training and couldn’t wait to go back.”
On her iPod: “My iPod is filled with hip hop, R&B, and rap. Music is extremely important to me – it motivates, uplifts and keeps me focused while training.”
Free time: “I’m a big fan of coffee shops. I try to hit one up a few times a week to catch up with friends, read or write.”
Roadblocks: An admittedly obsessive person, she is always trying to maintain a balanced life. “I also need to work on allowing myself breaks when I need them, without feeling guilty.”
Words to live by: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step.” –Confucius
