Cover Girl Insider

This month’s cover girl made quite the impression. Not only is she smart and sassy, she’s got a great outlook and is living the good life.

Jaquelyn Roberts
Oxygen #101, pg. 50

Sign: “I’m an Aries,” she says.

Hometown: She was born and raised in Washington State.

Claim to fame: Not only is Jaquelyn a Women’s Tri Fitness Competitor, NPC competitor, and Fitness Model, she’s also a preschool teacher.

On her time: “During the winter months, my husband and I go snowboarding almost every weekend,” she says. “It’s a great way to get out of the city take a mini-vacation. And it’s a great workout too.”

On her bedside table: “I just finished the final Harry Potter series a few weeks ago and loved it,” she says. “Another favorite is the Nanny Diaries.”

On her iPod: Jaquelyn is well prepared for any situation. “I have music for every mood, and a ton for those extra tough workout days.”

In her fridge: “I’m not a fan of cardio, so it’s easier for me to get ready for a show if I stay lean year-round,” she says. Along with the rest of the clean eats, “I’ve got two huge Costco-sized boxes of egg whites in my fridge,” she says.

Choice cheats: If she’s prepping for a show and craves a sweet treat, there is no reason to worry. “I keep a big box of sugar-free popsicles in my freezer,” she says.

Her obstacle: “I work out solo most of the time and don’t push myself hard enough,” she says. “I work harder when someone pushes me.”

Her moment: “I left college with only two classes left,” she says. “When I finally finished them online, it felt amazing.”

Her worst job: “Sitting at the top of a waterslide and telling people to “go” all day,” she says. “That’s all I would say or do for eight hours.”

Words to live by: Jaquelyn believes we spend too much time wondering about ‘this’ or ‘that.’ Stop wasting time and “live today like is was your last,” she says.
