Cover Girl Insider

Oxygen’s own Tosca Reno has transformed her life and wants you to do the same. Sit down for a chat with this month’s cover girl.

Tosca Reno
Oxygen #102, pg. 50

Sign: She’s a Taurus

Hometown: Born in Quebec, raised in Kingston, Ontario.

Claim to fame: Recipe developer, fitness model, and author of the Clean Eating books (Robert Kennedy Publishing, 2006).

On her time: “I love to design home interiors,” says Tosca. “I think our living spaces should be clean, comfortable and inspirational.”

On her bedside table: “I am reading a book that has changed my way of thinking about food,” Tosca says. “It is called the Omnivores’ Dilemma (Penguin, 2006) and I can’t put it down.”

On her iPod: “I am all over the place when it comes to music,” Tosca admits. “It’s the talent I respond to more than the kind. Gwen Stefani can actually sing, so I make a point of listening to her stuff.”

In her fridge: Do you think the queen of clean eats would have junk in there? Nothing but veggies and lean meats for Tosca. Though, “I do love a latte,” she admits.

Her worst job: The worst job Tosca ever had was as a lifeguard at the local pool. “I was 18, loved the actual guarding, but hated the cleanup,” she says. “Especially the bathrooms after a hot summer day. Peee-uuww!!

Her obstacle: When it comes to fitness, Tosca says time isn’t always on her side. “But even that won’t stop me,” she says.

Her moment: “My best shot at life came when I rescued myself from the destructive path I was on eight years ago,” says Tosca. “Learning how to take care of myself saved my life.”

Staying on track: “I know how valuable a second chance is,” she says, “and I won’t waste it simply because I can’t take care of myself properly. It’s a commitment to myself.”

Things she can’t live without:

Weights: “They changed my life.”
Bobbi Brown Blush: “It gives me a natural glow, just like clean eating.”
Burt Bees Cuticle Cream: “Saves me in a pinch.”
My computer: “I hate to say it, but it’s true!”
