This simple crock-pot recipe will jumpstart your mornings and keep you going with long-lasting energy.

Cracked wheat hot cereal

Ready in 5-6 hours • Makes 4 servings

• 2 cups water
• 1 cup wheat berries (the whole kernel of wheat)

1. The night before, place water and wheat berries into a crock-pot. Set the heat to low and cook overnight, or for at least 5-6 hours.

2. In the morning, you’ll have a hot breakfast ready to serve. Add a little non-fat milk, a dash of sea salt, and your favorite clean sweetener. “I’ve used honey, stevia and agave,” says Shersti.

“Cracked wheat cereal has been a favorite of mine since childhood,” says Shersti. “Mom tried to use as much whole wheat as possible and also taught us that a healthy breakfast was really important.”
