This is a common concern for many women, as the upper part of the arm is an area where adipose tissue can accumulate. Unfortunately, spot reduction or exercising a specific body part does not lead to loss of fat in a determined area. So for example, doing an excess of triceps exercises will not lead to a loss of adipose tissue on the back of the upper arms over the triceps muscle. It is common to lose the most recent fat laid down and so the last to go will be the first adipose tissue that was deposited – in your case, possibly your upper arms. I would suggest patience, continued exercise and consultation with a nutritionist to ensure that you have the proper balance of carbohydrates and protein so that you lose weight appropriately, and allow for remodeling of the fat stores to occur.
