Lindsay Walter is a run coach, health educator 43-time marathon runner and four-time ultra marathon runner. Walter has always been athletic. She played basketball through elementary, middle, high school and into college at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. By her senior year of college, she decided to sign up for her first race: Grandma’s Marathon. “My natural competitiveness and desire to call myself a ‘marathoner’ drove me to sign up,” Walter told Runner’s World. She described it as a “one-time bucket-list thing.”After finishing the 26.2-mile race in four hours and five minutes — without stopping to walk once — she was hooked. Since, Walter has completed over forty marathons and four ultra marathons.
