During exercise, your body works hard and expends nutrients stored in your cells. It’s imperative to consume a rich protein combined with a good carbohydrate as quickly as possible immediately following your workout. The Basic Booty Recovery Shake replenishes all the nutrients that you have expended. You will recover faster by restoring the broken-down cells and reducing inflammation. This means you can get your booty back to your workout regimen faster while feeling stronger and better than ever!
Basic Booty Recovery Shake
Makes 1 serving
- ½ scoop vanilla whey protein powder
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/3 cup fresh or frozen berries
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Note: This is a 1-brick recovery shake. A “brick” in Abbott’s diet plan is composed of a specific quantity of protein, carbohydrate and fat, and is used to build your meals. Following this program, you eat a certain number of bricks at each meal and snack. That number is based on two factors: 1) the diet you’re on (modifier, maintainer or gainer) and 2) your frame size, determined by your height. Depending on the diet you are on, the macronutrient composition of bricks will differ slightly. To make this a 2-brick Basic Booty Recovery Shake, boost the whey protein powder to one scoop and the berries to 2/3 cup.
