St. Patrick’s Day is almost here, which means McDonald’s is offering it’s Shamrock Shake. Creamy and minty and topped with a swirl of whipped cream, it’s hard to resist.
Unfortunately, that green deliciousness has 530 calories and 15 grams of fat… and that’s just for the small (12 oz.) serving. If you like ’em bigger, the medium shake (16 oz.) has 660 calories and 19 grams of fat, and the large, well, it’ll make you feel fat just looking at it because it contains a whopping 820 calories and 23 grams of fat.
Fortunately, this guilt-free, vegan recipe tastes like the real thing, but with way less fat and calories.
Healthy Vegan Shamrock Shake
- 1 cup organic almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein
- 1 tablespoon Sunwarrior Super Greens, Mint
- 1 packet of sweetener, or 1 squirt liquid stevia
- 1 handful of ice
- Optional: For those who want to add a little extra green to their shamrock shake, add a handful of baby spinach.
Depending on the sweetener, the recipe has 205 calories, 21 grams of protein, 14 grams of sugar, 5 grams of fiber.
