- Begin each day with some deep breathing and simple stretching (gently rocking head side to side, torso rotations and reaching for your toes). “Taking less than two minutes can extend your well-being for hours,” says Christine Gerbstadt MD, RD.
- Sustain your energy and revved metabolism by eating frequently, says Heidi Skolnik, CDN, a sports nutritionist with the Women’s Sports Medicine Center at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Have a snack or small meal every two to three hours.
- Start your day with a powerhouse breakfast that will energize you all day, says Barbara Lewin, RD and sports nutritionist. Try muesli: yogurt, fruit, nuts and whole-grain cereal mixed together.
