Sofia Rodriguez

Sofia Rodriguez, also known as “SoFITfia,” is a health and fitness expert, certified personal trainer, model, former bikini competitor and the creator of Glute Camp®️. Being bilingual and multi-cultured, Rodriguez has been able to inspire and motivate individuals from all facets of life through her passion for fitness and health.

Rodriguez is based in the Virgina/Washington D.C. area, though she comes from a military background and has lived in various states and countries. She became a certified personal trainer in 2007, after completing her undergraduate degrees in kinesiology and psychology. In college, Rodriguez was a competitive cheerleader and played various sports, so her natural competitive nature was hard to shake. She took advantage of it by spending the next three years competing in the bikini division of the NPA, both at the local and national level.

Rodriguez went on to receive her Masters in clinical exercise physiology from the University of Virginia in 2012. Since, she has continued her fitness education through a variety of certifications, been presented as a fitness expert on TV morning shows, and featured in several magazines and publications, including Forbes and The Huffington Post.

Rodriguez recently launched her own fitness products and created a class, Glute Camp®️, targeting the glutes, legs and core. In addition to training clients one-on-one in person, Sofia also now offers virtual training.

What keeps you motivated?

“The excitement of the possibilities that can come my way if I put in the work and stay dedicated. I know that a lot of days I won’t feel like doing something, but I do it anyways and feel amazing after. Also, the thought of not giving it my all and missing an opportunity is enough to stay focused.”

Why do you love to sweat?

“Because it helps my mental health more than anything. Fitness has helped me build my inner strength and confidence and has helped me get through adversity. This is why I love to sweat because I know what it is doing beyond building a physique.”

What words do you live by?

“Embrace the struggle and hard times because it will sharpen your character and mind. Believe in yourself and NEVER give up, even if you fall 100 times.”

What makes you a kick-a$$ Oxygen Ambassador?

Ever since I was a younger girl, I LOVED Oxygen Magazine! I imagined myself being in the magazine as a fitness model. I have been on the Future of Fitness in Oxygen Magazine, wrote an article that was featured in the magazine, and also wrote an article for the online platform with pictures of myself doing the exercises. I believe my loyalty to Oxygen over the years and the desire to grow with this platform will make me an AMAZING ambassador!
