If you think sit-ups are easy, we’ve got a treat for you. This sit-up variation will make you feel — well, something close to how the undead must feel. Lisa Maximus is back with another scary tough workout: Zombie Sit-Ups. (Side note: if you’re looking for an absolutely terrifying zombie movie to get inspired, we recommend Mulberry Street, 2006!)

How to Do Zombie Sit-Ups

  1. Lay down on the floor and tuck your feet under a couch, chair or dumbbells to stabilize yourself. (FYI: Don’t stick your feet underneath anything that’ll tip over on you.)
  2. Lay back and focus on keeping a slight arch in your lower back.
  3. Arms extended into the air (zombie style!) perform a sit-up, making sure to keep your arms straight and pointed upward the entire time.

There you have it! One Zombie Sit-Up, perfect to feel the burn in your psoas muscle, which runs up and down your hips.
